The plaza construction includes public conference halls on the east and several safe drug consumption facilities on the west. Institutionalisation of the drug abuse that is present in the community will aim to decrease the contamination of the plaza and aid in a clean and safe public dwelling. This intends to be a collective project that will act as an urban generator for local and neighbouring communities.

The sphere is a non-choice and as a platonic solid it allows the viewer to appropriate it and above all engage an authentic relationship. In the image of the mother’s womb, the main characteristic is an emerging space that allows no reference point, thus empowering the body to become the only reference.

Two fictitious axis were conceived to probe every possible scenario. The ABR team was assigned the largest station on the map: SCALA. The result strives to create one space that can withhold a multitude of functions and maximise the potential of that space.

This project focuses on creating an architectural jewel, which will promise to catch the eye of passersby with its exceptional glow. Thinly cut translucent onyx stone is used to illuminate the shop both from the inside out and the outside in. In addition to the exterior remodel, the interior is completely refurbished to allow maximum comfort for viewing and examining jewels.

Together with a team of naval and civil engineers, we propose a dynamic lightweight structure that bridges 80 meters in diameter and acts as a viable protection from elements when conditions should require. Combining the archaic structure of the bicycle wheel and cutting edge technology in pneumatic structures, a hybrid configuration is formed that is both retractable and mobile; and in parallel reducing considerably the impact on the amphitheater.
