Restoration of a Listed Heritage Building Façade in Geneva
This project involved the complete restoration of the façades of a listed heritage building in Geneva, carried out in close collaboration with the Cantonal Heritage Department. The primary objective was to preserve the building's architectural and historical significance while ensuring its long-term durability and continued contribution to the urban landscape.
The scope of work included a comprehensive façade refurbishment, careful cleaning ofexisting surfaces, and the repair and replacement of deteriorated natural stone elements. Every intervention was guided by a detailed assessment of the building's original materials and construction techniques, ensuring full compatibility with the historic fabric and compliance with heritage conservation requirements.
A key aspect of the project was the development of a dedicated colour study. Historical paintlayers were analysed, archival research was conducted, and close consultation with heritage authorities allowed us to identify an appropriate colour palette reflecting the building's original character. Particular attention was given to enhancing the architectural composition of the façades while respecting the historical authenticity of the property.
The restoration process combined traditional craftsmanship with contemporary conservation standards, resulting in a sensitive and sustainable intervention that safeguards the building's heritage value for future generations. This project demonstrates our expertise in heritage building restoration, façade conservation, natural stone repair, and the rehabilitation of protected historic properties in Geneva. Through a rigorous and collaborative approach, we strive to preserve the architectural legacy of historic buildings while adapting them to contemporary requirements.
